LAS VEGAS, December 29th, 2005 – The inaugural season of the World Paintball League has been playing host to some exciting history in the making. The league’s third tournament of the season was the first time in televised professional sports history that an all female team competed against all male teams within the same league. Unlike many such sporting competitions, there were no rule alterations and the women had no extra advantages.
“We are really excited to be a part of this landmark event,” says Milt Call, Founder of the UAPL. Duke Hillinger, President of the UAPL, adds “There have been other battle-of-the-sexes sports events in the past, most notably Billy Jean King against Bobby Riggs, but we aren’t altering the rules one bit. We don’t need to; I’ve seen these women play and I hope the men understand what’s in store for them.”
Each week, eight professional teams from around the United States and Canada compete in a single elimination, 3-on-3, paintball tournament. The two teams battle it out in intense best of seven game matches. The tournaments are played within a 50x100 foot cage.
The exciting action takes place at the Las Vegas Sports Center on Sunset Boulevard. All the game play is captured on high definition cameras to be broadcast on Superstation WGN.
This new Professional level of the Ultimate Arena Paintball League will make its television premiere on January 7th at 3pm PDST and again on Sunday, January 8th at 10pm PDST on Superstation WGN. Be sure to tune in the following week, January 14th, to find out how far Milwaukee Rapture, the all women’s team, advances in the tournament. DirecTV viewers can catch the action on Ch. 307 and Dish Network can see it on Ch. 239. Check your cable grid to find out where Superstation WGN is for you. If you can’t find WGN on your cable system, call and insist they get with the program. 20 Million paintball players, worldwide, can’t be wrong!
Reserved seats and general admission tickets are available now at www.uapl.tv. A brand-new Karnivor paintball marker, as well as hundreds of other door prizes, will be given away during each day of competition.

PAINTBALL POWERHOUSE HAS DOMINANT RUN
SNAPPED IN WEEKEND CLASH
San Diego Dynasty Fails to Reach Finals for First Time Sine November 2004
LAS VEGAS, November 16th, 2005 – The streak is over. The San Diego Dynasty, the most dominant paintball team in the world over the last four years, failed to advance past the semi-finals of the Ultimate Arena Paintball League (UAPL) tournament last weekend. For almost a year, the team reached the finals of every competition before finally falling just short in the Las Vegas-based event. They are now ranked 2nd in the WPL and will face the same teams as this past weekend in the next WPL Western Conference Competition on January 28th and 29th.
"The other team played great,” said Alex Fraige, starter for the Dynasty, which had won eight of its last ten games and earned second place in the other two games. “We probably underestimated them after we beat them Saturday, and I think we lost some of our focus. We quit playing aggressively, which cost us.”
The tournament took place over two days at the Las Vegas Sports Center, where Team Dynasty charged through Saturday night and moved into the Day One finals. Sunday was a different story as the team was defeated in a fiercely fought, back-and-forth best-of-seven games match.
The UAPL television show will air the match and all its outcomes on January 7th, 2005 at 3 p.m. PDST and will repeat on Sunday, January 8th at 10 p.m. PDST. Tune in to find out who knocked Dynasty out of the finals and broke their streak, and who went on to win the tournament. DirecTV viewers can catch the action on Ch. 307 and Dish Network can see it on Ch. 239. Check your cable grid to find out where Superstation WGN is for you.
Reserved seats and general admission tickets are still available for the rest of the season at the Las Vegas Sports Center. Tickets can be purchased at www.uapl.tv. Brand-new Karnivor and Black Magic paintball markers, as well as hundreds of other door prizes, will be given away during each day of competition.
